What's the point of this site?
The point is simple, every time a new MMO we're stuck on the same old boards; the Vault or some other over-moderated hellhole. Even the companies we thought would be cool, that started small, sold out as soon as they got some well-paying advertisements for Pampers Baby Wipes or Disney Toontown that stipulated nazi moderation. Next thing you know, shit and fuck are coming through as blank and blank in your motherblanking posts. A lot of the visitors here have been around, you know exactly what I... [Read More]

Forget About Me?
I'm your girlfriend, your wife, the one who brings you something to drink because you can't move your lazy ass away from the computer screen long enough to do it for yourself. You abandon me daily.
One question. When do you fellas find the time to shit? No joke. I mean occasionally you must encounter a rather stubborn bowel movement. You know, the kind that confines your ass to porcelain for a good forty minutes. What then? What happens if some dragon or Blair witch or Goonie comes by and ste... [Read More]

Unmoderated Info Opens
No one gives a fuck...yet. I've begun running RSS news feeds for the games that have them.

Radar Love
The first UI mod was arguably the radar program in EQ - a map of the zone you were in with an overlay of where each and every critter was. If I recall correctly, it also told users what loot was on each monster, too. (Yes, Virginia, these games didn't used to generate drops after the monster's death. Used to be the critters popped into being with their loot already generated.)
Sure, it was a hack, and only Dirty Rotten Cheaters did it. Sony watched for it, and by watched I mean "lurked in... [Read More]

Significant Others: Dear Stupid, We All Hope Your Partner Divorces You
We have no idea why the two of you got married. Not every gamer marries a gamer, but "gaming tolerant" usually makes an appearance on the list of features desired by a gamer. It's not because gaming is so damn important. It's about respect. It doesn't matter what our stupid time sucking hobby is, as long as it's not cheating our family out of the time they deserve, it's OUR HOBBY. Our downtime. Our shred of self not totally subsumed into the endless grind of responsibility. The bit of... [Read More]

TOR To Be PC Exlusive, Says Bioware CEO
BioWare's CEO Ray Muzyka is quoted as saying SW TOR will be a PC Exclusive title.
"[For] Star Wars: The Old Republic we’ve only talked about PC, and that’s our development focus. Will we explore other systems in the future for other MMO games in the future? Yeah, maybe. We have nothing we’ve announced on that front. Our main focus with The Old Republic is to make sure that the PC version of the game is awesome, and to make sure that it’s a high quality experience."
And thus ended the... [Read More]

MMO: Freedom from Choice - A Rebuttal
I'd like to take a moment to thank Havoc for his editorial concerning his thoughts on the residual decline of competition and freedom within MMO's entitled "MMO: Freedom of Choice". I'm a competitive gamer myself, and in many ways agree with the state of MMO's, but at the same time I feel obligated to step out of my comfort zone and re-evaluate why we have seen MMO's become more friendly, less complicated, and "safer" for the average gamer.
Competitive players look at... [Read More]

10 Things I hate about you
Ten things I hate about you, the average gamer:
One, your inability to use the English language properly and how ironically you'll be so quick to say: "your dumb"
Two, how you hate anything that poses a challenge. WoW is the breeding ground for the laziest players of all time but it has been going back since SNES. The regular NES was all about limited lives then GAME OVER! Beating the game was something only a select few could do and it meant something, now everyone wins, just so... [Read More]

Darkfall Geopolitical Update - Week 3
Link to Week 2
Link to Darfkall Map
Week 3
Week 3 saw a shit ton of sieges, wars, and at least one city and one hamlet change hands. Alliances are in constant shift in Darkfall and there really appears to be some wonderful 'risk-like' intrigue in this game.
The Siege mechanics of today still heavily favor large alliances and blitzkrieg strikes. For those of you unfamiliar with the game mechanics taking a town on a fresh server up costs 10k gold. However, to challenge for that town eve... [Read More]

Warhammer: How to cap contribution in a keep offense
For max contribution while taking a keep, do at least one point of damage to every single guard and defender you see from outside a group or warband. You don't need to kill, you just need to tag them and stay alive. When the keep lord dies you'll be at the top...unless everyone else there has been doing the same thing.
