Introducing the vbGuild Plugin

Until now, there's been no vBulletin plugin that supports a guild whose history spans more than one game, one server, or with members having multiple characters in the same game. vbGuild is made with those guilds in mind. Define games, servers for those games, and traits for each game. A trait can be a text input value like surname or crafter type, a dropdown for values like race, class, or level, a radio button, or a check box. Set up each game's character history exactly as you want it. Determine which usergroups can record their characters on your board and which show up in your roster and then view that roster at any level, i.e. all games, one game, or one server.

For a very small $5 fee, you gain a lifetime license with unlimited upgrades. That money will go to support the future development of the plugin as well as spur other useful products. vbGuild will be fully supported and features added constantly. There's obviously nothing stopping people from stealing or sharing but we're hoping the community chooses to show support. Some of the planned enhancements: quick-sort for traits, import lists from text and game-specific feeds (as games come out), flag games as inactive or default, view roster split by usergroups, better style control, and allow admin to act as another user. You can see a list in the project tracker here.

You can see a working implementation of vbGuild here. A limited free version is available here. vbGuild works with vBulletin versions 3.7.0 and higher.

To begin, subscribe to vbGuild. Once subscribed, follow the installation instructions.

It'll get prettier and more functional as we go. We thought it was more important to get a decent working product out there now and enhance it with feedback from users.

Aedh Attached pics 17-21 are very distorted. You might want to consider uploading some clearer images. 02-28-2009
Sudo I'll post new ones when the new version comes out this weekend. 02-28-2009

Sudo Welcome to our new vbGuild developer, Christopher 'Twisted Chaos' Matuszak. 05-18-2009
Kreeper This is an interesting feature, but it seems more for guilds that have been around for a long period of time? 05-19-2009

Why would that be true? Most roster plugins don't support multiple games, servers, or even more than one character. Plus they don't allow you to define traits that are important to you; they're just preset for the game the roster is made for.

Twisted Chaos kreeper... its nor just for older guilds but for newer guilds as well...
what it does is give an option to keep all of your characters in one place

Mando501 Question: is it possible to get the vbguild page to default to a given game/server listing? For example, if the guild primarily plays Star Wars Galaxies on the Starsider server (just an example, mind) then the guild might want to default the display to that set up. When people view the vbguild page they automatically see all the characters and details for Star Wars Galaxies->Starsider. 12-23-2009

That's near the top of the wish list right now.
